The strategic location of Mérida allows for the arrival of thousands of visitors by three routes: air, land and sea. This city has an international airport with seven direct domestic flights and six international connections: Houston, Havana, Miami, Milan, Belize and Toronto.
Once at the airport you can find taxi service or shuttle services that their costs can fluctuate from 7 to 269 USDls.
There is another international airport in Cancun, four and half hours away from Merida by bus, and three hours by car. This is one of the biggest airports in Mexico with international connections to Quebec, Chicago, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Brasilia, London, Paris, Lima, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Madrid, Frankfurt, L.A., and others.
You can book the bus from Cancun Airport to Merida CAME (Mérida Bus station located at downtown) or to Fiesta Americana (www.ado.com.mx). The transfers between airports depart every half hour with a round-trip cost around 40 to 84 USDls.
Mérida is the gateway to the Mayan culture and is surrounded by impressive natural and astonishing archaeological sites. Citizens or permanent residents with official documents from Canada, the United States of America, Japan, UK, N Ireland, and countries within the Schengen Space, do not need a visa.
